Study #2: Will God ever leave us or give up on us?
Begin with prayer: “God, I ask you to speak to me through your Word, the Bible. Speak to my heart to understand what you want to say to me. Amen.”
John 1
12Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God- 13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
Q – At what moment did your new life begin?
2 Corinthians 5
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Q – Once a person accepts Jesus into their life, according to verse 17, how different is their life now?

13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit…
2 Corinthians 1
22[He] set his seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit…
Q – What did God give us when we accepted Christ? (The Bible clearly teaches there is only one God, yet in three “persons”…the Father, the Son (Jesus), the Holy Spirit.)
Hebrews 13
5 …God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Reread this verse and insert your name in place of “you.”
Q – What does it mean to you that God promises that He will never fail you nor forsake you?
John 10 – Jesus said:
27My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.
29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.
Q – Who keeps you secure in His hand?
Q – In verse 28, what does Jesus say He gives us?
John 5 – Jesus said:
24I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
1 John 5
11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Q – According to verse 11, how do we obtain eternal life?
Q – Who has eternal life, according to verses 12 and 13?
Q – Is it possible to have received Jesus, to personally believe in the Son and not have eternal life?
For those who have yet to receive Jesus into their life, Knowing God Personally explains how they can.
Romans 8
38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Conclusion: Summarize from all of these verses how you can know that your relationship with Jesus is secure.
